In many cultures, the butterfly is a symbol for the human soul and psyche.  "Petalouda" means butterfly in Greek.  In 2016, the plight of the migrants touched me deeply and I wanted to create an artwork in the Port of Piraeus in Athens.   The port project was not realized, and instead, I placed a pink butterfly on the summit of Mt. Olympus.  Butterflies are deep and powerful representations of life.  Around the world, people view the butterfly as representing endurance, change, hope, and life.
